Aloha 100th Infantry 1942 Authentic Ballcap

THE AUTHENTIC 1942 “ALOHA” LOGO USED BY THE ALOHA 100TH INFANTRY

History: The 100th Infantry team consisted of Japanese-American players from Hawaii. After the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government rounded up Japanese-American citizens and sent them to internment camps, however the soldiers of the 100th infantry were granted an opportunity to “prove their patriotism.” But rather than allow them to stay in Hawaii, they were sent to Camp McCoy in Wisconsin. There they played baseball with other Camp McCoy personnel, but soon founded their own club, which they called the Aloha Team, with an emphasis on their Hawaiian – rather than Japanese – identity.

This ballcap pays homage to the logo used by the Aloha during their days in Wisconsin, and is crafted with genuine red wool broadcloth and cream felt lettering, just like back in the day.
